Max Dubler is a San Francisco based urban planner, photographer, writer, videographer, designer, and downhill skateboarder.
After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 2009, he moved to Los Angeles and started Skate House Media, a now-defunct website that documented grassroots downhill skateboarding in Los Angeles and around the world. In 2011, he started shooting photos and writing for SkateSlate Longboarding, a downhill skateboarding magazine.
In 2022, Max earned a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Community Economic Development and Housing from the University of California, Los Angeles. He currently works for California YIMBY in a hybrid policy and digital communications role.
Max's writing has appeared in SkateSlate Magazine, Skatehousemedia.com, Jenkem Magazine, and on Vice.com. He has photographed for a wide variety of clients both inside and outside the skateboard industry.
In addition to his writing and camera work, Max was a semi-professional rider for Madrid Skateboards, Venom Skate products, and Rogue Trucks.
